- Cowes Medina A v Bembridge Men’s A – 20th September 25This was the biggest match of the season for us. Would it be our last match in the First Division for some time? On paper, it seemed quite straightforward. Secure 2 points and we would stay in the top division. In reality, there were complications. Cowes Medina although lacking a number of regulars were still able to field a very… Read more: Cowes Medina A v Bembridge Men’s A – 20th September 25

- Sandown A v Bembridge Men’s A – 23rd August 25A bright sunny afternoon greeted us on a green which in the past has proved difficult for us. It was critical that we should come away with at least some reward for our efforts. To this end Captain Stewart had shuffled the personnel of our three rinks and by the end of the afternoon it was apparent that this had… Read more: Sandown A v Bembridge Men’s A – 23rd August 25
- Bembridge Men’s B v Ventnor C – 23rd August 25Saturday 23 August. A perfect summer’s day with a cooling breeze and without the humidity of recent times. For their last home match of the season the Men’s B Team were hosting Ventnor C. Rink 2 Bernie, Trevor, Paul C and Tim set their mark on the game with a six on the second end. - Bembridge Men’s A v Shanklin B – 16th August 25A busy period for the A team, three games in four days. Two of these were cup matches and if the team thought they would be able to escape the grind of battling for vital points in the league and be able to relax, they were in for a rude awakening. In the first game against Ventnor A, Bembridge won… Read more: Bembridge Men’s A v Shanklin B – 16th August 25
- Bembridge Men’s B v Sandown C – 16th August 25Saturday 16 August was supposed to be part of the fourth heat wave. The overcast sky reduced the solar heat gain and the strong breeze blowing off Sandown Bay made for a chilly reception for the Men’s B Team playing away to league leaders, Sandown C. Rink 1 Derek, Alan, Norman O and Kev made good steady start and were… Read more: Bembridge Men’s B v Sandown C – 16th August 25

- Shanklin A v Bembridge Men’s A – 9th August 25A fine sunny afternoon greeted us on our arrival at Shanklin. That was probably the highlight of the day. The usually immaculate Shanklin green was a patchwork of their customary carpet like grass and areas lacking in grass altogether. This made it difficult to judge pace as bowls had to cross the various surfaces. The one constant feature of the… Read more: Shanklin A v Bembridge Men’s A – 9th August 25
- Special Report – 23rd July 25
Dark storm clouds building on the afternoon of Thursday 23 July must have motivated Norman Osborn, Chris Emms, Gordon Holmes and Kevin Lavonian, during a home match against Shanklin E, to record a HOT SHOT. - Bembridge Men’s A v Totland A – 2nd August 25Having won the last two matches against fellow strugglers, we had some confidence that we would be able to perform well against Totland who were safely placed in mid table. Unfortunately, our confidence proved misplaced and our opponents ran out worthy winners on two of the three rinks. The shining exception was the four of Bills Silvester, Stewart Small, Steve… Read more: Bembridge Men’s A v Totland A – 2nd August 25
- Ventnor A v Bembridge Men’s A – 29th July 25What could be nicer on a Summer evening than a game of bowls in the sunshine at Ventnor. Unfortunately, reality intervened and this match was played in heavy thundery showers and sunshine was sadly lacking. On a positive note, things turned out well for Bembridge A and they came away soggy but happy with the result. There is only one… Read more: Ventnor A v Bembridge Men’s A – 29th July 25
- Bembridge Men’s B v Shanklin E – 23rd July 25Thursday 23 July The afternoon started warm, humid and still with the forecast thunder clouds building over the mainland. These, and a few light showers, formed a distraction for the Men’s B Team to play their second match in two days. Their opponents were Shanklin E. Rink 4 Bill, Paul M, John Hol and John Hyl had a close low… Read more: Bembridge Men’s B v Shanklin E – 23rd July 25

- Bembridge Men’s A v Plessey B – 19th July 25I have an admission to make. When the team is on a poor run of form, writing the relevant reports can become something of a chore. After heavy overnight rain, early anxiety over the state of the green… Read more: Bembridge Men’s A v Plessey B – 19th July 25
- Plessey A v Bembridge Men’s A – 16th July 25A fine evening greeted us at Plessey but the sun did not shine on a Bembridge revival. Although all three rinks made promising starts, our opponents soon took control and stayed in control until the end. There seemed to be little difference between the ability of the two teams but there was a gulf between us when it came to… Read more: Plessey A v Bembridge Men’s A – 16th July 25
- Bembridge Men’s B v Sandown C – 12th July 25Saturday 12 July was the hottest day of the third heatwave and the men’s B Team were home to the runaway league leaders Sandown C. - Bembridge Men’s A v Cowes Medina A – 5th July 25There was definitely a change in the weather for this match against high flying Cowes Medina with the odd light shower and cold and blustery conditions.
