Following a good win in their last match and some encouragement from good performances from our pair and four in an overall loss to Shanklin A in the Top Club competition, we travelled to Totland with some confidence. It was therefore particularly disappointing to come away with no points and a few harsh lessons to learn.

The three rinks followed a very similar pattern, a first half of the game was closely contested but the turning point midway through saw each rink concede heavily on a number of consecutive ends from which there was no turning back. Although the overall shot difference may not have reflected the true difference between the two sides, it did not disguise the comprehensive nature of the defeat.

The one redeeming feature was the performances of George Hayden and Mike Skipp who came into the match at short notice and battled creditably throughout.
