We played high flying Cowes at home on the 14th June. We knew it would be a hard afternoon and so it was to prove. It was not all doom and gloom however and all three rinks stuck to their task well.
Dave Wolton with Pat Maher, Martin Ward and Stewart Small were able to keep their opponents within reach for a considerable period before losing 11-18.
Tim Blow with Steve Day, Gerald Rees and Colin Greer were in touch throughout this very close contest and as they came to the last end, they were one shot down. Unfortunately the opposing lead placed both bowls resting on a long jack and Bembridge were unsuccessful in their efforts to dislodge them. This resulted in a loss of 20-27 which hardly reflected the closeness of the match overall.
Chris Emms with George Hayden, Peter Svendsen and Norman Cooper battled throughout but with the rub of the green not going their way went down 10-25.
