Saturday 7 June was cool, windy with showers and a possibility of thunderstorms in the forecast. Not ideal conditions for our chosen summer sport. But it was a good turnout to play away to Ryde Marina B. The full turnout was achieved by FOUR A Team player volunteers.
On Rink 2 Bernie, Chris Brown, Trevor and Tim made a good start and were 15 – 3 up after eight ends. Ryde then woke up and after sixteen ends it was all square at 17 each. Scores were than close until Bembridge took 3 on the last end to win 22 – 21.
On Rink 3 Bill M, Steve Day, Gordon and Norman O struggled and only won four of the first eighteen ends by which time the score was 29- 5. Ryde then got bored or cold and the game ended at 30 – 9.
On Rink 4 Jeff, Martin Ward, John Hol and Kev also struggled and won only four of the first eighteen ends by which time the score was 26 – 7. Bembridge then took the final four ends and the game ended at 26 – 13.
Final numbers were 77 – 44 with 2 points to Bembridge.
