Tuesday 10 June and we were home to Ventnor C. It was a warm but initially heavily overcast afternoon. Mid-afternoon the sun broke through and the temperature went up. So did the UV levels resulting in some sun burn for those not heavily protected.
It still required A Team player, Ian Hampshire to complete the squad.
Without significant scores on Rink 1, Bernie, Ian, Trevor and Tim steadily tightened their grip and the game and ended wining 20 – 14.
On Rink 2 Jeff, Bill M, J Hol and Paul M stayed in touch until losing a 4 on the tenth end taking tea trailing 6 – 11. Whether it was the tea or the sun, but the slide continued losing a 5 and then a 7 to end up losing 8 – 35.
On Rink 3 a returning Alan B, Richie, Norman O and Kev managed without any major scores to take tea 19 – 3 up. The pattern continued with the game ending 26 – 10.
Overall score 54 – 59, 4 = 6 on points.
It was good to welcome Alan Bugby back to competitive bowling.
