Saturday 9 August and the Men’s B Team were home to second in the league Totland B. And we had a full team!
Rink 2 Bernie, Bill M, Paul C and Tim made an excellent start with a six on the first end. Totland slowly recovered most of the deficit. A single, then two threes by Bembridge again opened the gap and Bembridge led 13 – 10 at tea. By the fourteenth end Totland had drawn equal at 14- 14. This close head-to-head continued until Totland took the lead for the first time on the seventeenth. A lead which they held to the end winning 15 – 24.
Rink 3 Jeff, Paul M, John Hol and John Hyl made a slow start, only scoring two singles and were down 2 – 11 at tea. After tea, Bembridge’s slow scoring continued going down 6 – 28.
Rink 4 Derek, Stewart, Norman O and Kev Made an excellent start and had seven before Totland scored their first point. A few more good scores and Bembridge led 20 – 7 at tea. After tea, and although Totland won more ends their scoring was reduced to ones and twos. Bembridge continued as they started and finished 29 – 19.
