Having won the last two matches against fellow strugglers, we had some confidence that we would be able to perform well against Totland who were safely placed in mid table. Unfortunately, our confidence proved misplaced and our opponents ran out worthy winners on two of the three rinks. The shining exception was the four of Bills Silvester, Stewart Small, Steve Day and John Hawkes who took an early grip of their match which they never relinquished and won impressively 27-9. Chris Emms with David Brown, Martin Brown and Colin Greer struggled to repeat their heroics against Ventnor losing 13-21 and Pat Maher with Gerald Rees, Chris Brown and Norman Cooper were competitive in the early stages but faded badly, losing 10-30.
