There was definitely a change in the weather for this match against high flying Cowes Medina with the odd light shower and cold and blustery conditions. Unfortunately there was no change in the run of poor results for the A team. We all know that games of bowls can come down to fine margins and that the allocation of points sometimes does not reflect a true picture of the way the game has gone. This was certainly one of those days. All three rinks started reasonably well and Chris Emms with David Brown, Martin Ward and Colin Greer led for the majority of their very tight match before going down 13-17. John Hawkes with Steve Day, Stewart Small and Bill Silvester enjoyed little good fortune but as they approached the closing ends had established a narrow lead before slipping back and losing 20-23. Pat Maher with Gerald Rees, Chris Brown and Norman Cooper were competitive for large parts of this match and they had a one shot lead as they played the last end. Conceding two shots resulted in another close defeat, this time 20-21.

Warm words from our opponents for our efforts was little consolation for the absence of any points.
