Having successfully negotiated a lengthy road diversion, we arrived at Plessey on another fine day for bowls. There was a note of optimism in our camp despite the absence of two regular bowlers in our line up. Paul Cock and Martin Ward who stepped in to play their first games for the A team this season played their full part in an encouraging win for the team. John Hawkes and his team of Steve Day, Martin Ward and Stewart Small  were involved in a tight Match up until tea but then took a lead which they never relinquished and ran out winners 21-16. In a similar match, Colin Greer with David Brown, Ian Hampshire and Paul Cock were behind at tea but then took control and finished comfortable winners 18-13.

Unfortunately, Pat Maher with Gerald Rees, Chris Brown and Norman Cooper were unable to repeat their win of the previous week and after an inexplicable decline over the closing ends lost 18-21.
